VitalPro FP - Introduction

In VitalPro field trials users have found improvements of up to 74pence per cow per day income (£13,320/100cow herd in a winter). This has been produced by increases in milk yield of between 1.5 and 4.0 litres per cow and/or improvements of butterfat and protein levels of the order of 0.2% units each. A tendency to improved feed intakes and body condition has also been observed and these contribute to improved fertility and metabolic health.

VitalPro FP - What is it?

VitalPro FP is a nutritional feed additive comprising a formulated blend of permitted microelements, reducing sugars, essential oils and selected strains of yeast (Saccharomyces Cerevisae). This offers a proven means of enhancing overall protein utilisation in ruminant rations by enhancing By Pass protein and improving utilisation of Rumen Degradable Protein. The formulation is derived from our highly successful VitalPro Mill products. Performance of VitalPro FP is further enhanced by the inclusion of highly active live yeast designed exclusively for direct feeding to livestock.

VitalPro FP - FOUR modes of action

VitalPro FP is a unique approach to the need to enhance protein utilisation which it self gets more important as performance levels increase, protein prices increase and all animal protein sources are banned in ruminant applications. It is unique because it incorporates FOUR technologies in one cost effective product. Two of these are active in the feed two are active in the rumen.

Reducing Sugars are active in feed, particularly where heat and moisture are also applied. They combine with proteins to enhance By Pass through slowing the rate of protein degradation.

Selected Trace Elements are active in feed. They combine with sites on the
protein to further increase By Pass through slowing the rate of protein degradation. Their effect is also enhanced when heat and moisture are applied.

Essential Oils are active in the rumen. They slow down rates of protein solubility and degradation and stabilise rumen ammonia levels. This increases protein capture by the microbes so increasing microbial protein flow and tends to enhance By Pass protein.

Selected Yeasts are active in the rumen. Through enhancing rumen performance they increase protein capture by microbes so increasing microbial protein flow.

VitalPro FP - In practice

Getting the best out these types of technology is a challenge in practice. In the VitalPro system we have overcome this by compiling all our knowledge and testing results into a matrix for application when VitalPro FP is used. This can applied to both supplementary feed formulation systems and on farm rationing programmes.

VitalPro FP is provided as a direct fed farm pack to be fed at 30g per cow per day. Which is specially formulated to deliver the above benefits through feeding via TMR, Home Mix or Blended Feeds.

VitalPro FP can be incorporated into a bespoke VitalMix solution for each individual farmer. A Vitalmix can be a bespoke mineral (VitalMin) plus VitalPro FP or a bespoke combination of mineral, buffer, protected fat, amino acids, concentrated protein sources, specialist energy sources plus VitalPro FP or anything in between.

VitalPro is also available as a range of pre treated high quality vegetable protein products ranging in protein content from 40% to 50% and fat levels from 4% to 10%.

VitalPro can be supplied via the compound feed used in parlour.

VitalPro FP is a highly cost effective method of increasing cow performance whilst enhancing income for the supply trade.
