UltraSorb shields against mycotoxins
UltraSorb is a bio-active absorbent, primarily involved in the inactivation of a wide range of fungal secondary metabolites present in forage and concentrates. These problematic secondary metabolites are called mycotoxins and are poisons to ruminants, resulting in a range of health problems such as
- Disease
- Reduced milk production
- Reduced feed conversion
- Reduced fertility
- Impaired immune system
Due to the wide range of feedstuffs fed to ruminants today, most animals are exposed to at least low levels of mycotoxins and therefore UltraSorb is ideal as a preventative measure for enhanced performance of livestock. For more information on mycotoxins click here.
Mode of Action
UltraSorb achieves its function by utilising an unique formulation of toxin binders, yeast and yeast extracts. These components counteract the effect of a wide range of mycotoxins present in feedstuffs by binding them into inactive or unavailable forms. Furthermore, the yeast constituent of UltraSorb produces enzymes capable of degrading mycotoxins specifically.
The overall effect of UltraSorb application is:
- Stimulation of the immune system
- Improved feed efficiency
- Optimisation of gut metabolism
- Promotion of beneficial microflora activity
- Improved animal health status
Application of UltraSorb
For regular preventative use and feed efficiency improvements, 10g of UltraSorb should be administered per head per day as a top dress to feed or in total mixed rations (TMR). UltraSorb is provided in 10kg buckets and should be stored in a cool, dry place.
