Source and Manufacture for EnviroBed:

Wet sludge is obtained from Bridgewater Paper on the Wirral, a recycling paper mill and care is taken to source material of certain moisture and fibre content ensuring all the material is organic. Our drying plant is located in Knutsford, Cheshire. Heat is applied for an appropriate length of time to achieve 95% dry matter material. As well as drying and heat treating, the machinery also processes the raw material to achieve an even particle size which means the texture of EnviroBed is consistent and ideal for use on mats and mattresses.

Technical Details and Specifications of EnviroBed:

  • Dry Matter - High dry matter, around 94%+ makes the product very absorbent. Thus it will quickly mop up milk leakage and urine maintaining a dry bed.
  • Heat Treated - The high temperatures used in the drying process gives a safer product. This is more than can be said of straw and most sawdusts .
  • pH - It’s alkaline nature , pH around 7.0—7.4, creates a completely alien enviroment for pathogeic bacteria which can cause mastitis.
  • Copper - The manufacturing process leaves a residual content of copper, which is well known for it’s anti-bacterial properties.
  • Labour - The ease of application of EnviroBed leads most users to report a significant reduction in labour costs.
