Solka HoofGel & Solka HoofClear

Prevention of Digital Dermatitis:
Digital dermatitis starts as round or oval sores and usually occurs between
the bulbs of the heels. As infection progresses, the lesions increase in size
and become raised, the skin surrounding the lesions becomes inflamed, and the
entire area is painful to the touch. In some cases the cow will respond by simply
taking weight off the affected foot. Most cases, however, result in lameness.
Affected cattle begin to lose weight, and a marked decrease in milk production
in dairy cattle occurs. Some cases become so severe that humane destruction is
necessary.
Keys to preventing Digital Dermatitis
Practice good hygiene.
Eliminate mud and standing water.
Keep the feet dry.
Quarantine new animals.
Minimize stress in the herd.
Keep hooves trimmed.
Treat lameness immediately.

causes digital dermatitis. After cleaning and pairing the hoof Solka Gel is painted
on. The active ingredients involving effective enzymes and specific trace elements
